Brand: Norvasc, Amlodipine Besylate, Istin, Amlip, Amlor, Amvasc, Tenordate
Amlodipine is a long-acting calcium channel blocker primarily used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and angina (chest pain). It belongs to the dihydropyridine class of calcium channel blockers and works by relaxing the smooth muscle in the walls of blood vessels, allowing them to dilate and improving blood flow. This reduces the workload on the heart and lowers blood pressure, alleviating symptoms of angina and reducing the risk of cardiovascular events.
For treating high blood pressure, angina (chest pain), and coronary artery disease.
