Bazedoxifene is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) primarily used to treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. It acts by selectively binding to estrogen receptors in different tissues, exhibiting estrogenic effects in bone and anti-estrogenic effects in the uterus and breast. This helps to increase bone mineral density and reduce the risk of fractures without stimulating the uterine lining or breast tissue.
For the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at increased risk of fracture.

Mechanism:
Inhibition of CYP3A4.
Outcome:
Generally safe to use concomitantly.
Mechanism:
Synergistic effects on bone health.
Most likely new formulation: Combination therapy with other bone-building agents (5 years, 70% confidence).
Based on current usage trends and clinical trial data, there is a low likelihood of significant regulatory changes in the near future (1-2 years).
