Bicalutamide is a nonsteroidal antiandrogen used to treat prostate cancer. It works by blocking the effects of testosterone, a hormone that can fuel the growth of prostate cancer cells. Bicalutamide belongs to the class of anti-neoplastic agents and specifically to the hormonal therapy subclass.
