Generic: Carbidopa
Carbidopa is a decarboxylase inhibitor used in combination with levodopa to treat Parkinson's disease. It prevents the premature conversion of levodopa to dopamine outside the brain, allowing more levodopa to reach the brain where it is needed. This reduces the required dose of levodopa, minimizing side effects like nausea and vomiting.
