Cefprozil is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell death. It is effective against a broad range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, but less effective against gram-negative bacteria compared to third-generation cephalosporins. It is available in both oral suspension and tablet forms.
