Brand: Clomid, Serophene, Milophene
Clomiphene is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) primarily used to treat infertility in women who do not ovulate. It belongs to the class of nonsteroidal ovulatory stimulants and works by blocking estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, which increases the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH). These hormones stimulate the ovaries to produce and release eggs.
