Brand: Panthoderm, Bepanthen, Dexpanthen
Dexpanthenol, also known as pantothenol, is a provitamin of B5 (pantothenic acid). It's readily converted to pantothenic acid in the body, which is essential for cell growth and function and is a component of coenzyme A, involved in many metabolic processes. Dexpanthenol is used topically to treat skin irritations and internally to prevent and treat pantothenic acid deficiency, although such deficiency is rare.
