Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces stomach acid production. It is used to treat conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It belongs to the substituted benzimidazole class of drugs.
For treatment of GERD, erosive esophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and Helicobacter pylori eradication.

Increased bleeding risk
Mechanism:
Esomeprazole inhibits CYP2C9, which metabolizes warfarin.

Increased esomeprazole levels
Mechanism:
Cimetidine inhibits CYP2C19 and CYP3A4, which metabolize esomeprazole.

May slightly reduce esomeprazole absorption
