Haloperidol is an antipsychotic medication primarily used to treat schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. It belongs to the butyrophenone class of drugs and works by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain. Haloperidol can also be used to manage Tourette's syndrome, severe behavioral problems in children, and nausea and vomiting.
