Brand: Supprelin, Vantas
Histrelin is a synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist. It works by initially stimulating, then subsequently suppressing the release of gonadotropins (luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone) from the pituitary gland. This leads to a decrease in sex hormone production (testosterone in males and estrogen in females). Histrelin is primarily used to treat central precocious puberty (early onset of puberty).
