Minoxidil is a vasodilator medication used topically to treat hair loss and orally to treat high blood pressure. It belongs to a class of drugs known as potassium channel openers. When applied topically, minoxidil promotes hair growth by increasing blood flow to the hair follicles and extending the growth phase of the hair cycle. Orally, it widens blood vessels, helping to lower blood pressure.
Used topically for hair loss and orally for high blood pressure.
