Brand: Synarel
Nafarelin is a synthetic agonist analogue of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). It works by initially stimulating, then subsequently suppressing the release of gonadotropins (luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)) from the pituitary gland. This leads to a decrease in the production of sex hormones (estrogen and testosterone) by the ovaries and testes, creating a temporary state of medical castration. It's primarily used to treat endometriosis, central precocious puberty, and sometimes uterine fibroids.
