Brand: Acupan, Nefpam, Neofane
Nefopam is a centrally acting non-opioid analgesic with a unique mechanism of action, distinct from opioids, NSAIDs, and paracetamol. It is classified as a benzoxazocine derivative. Nefopam is believed to act by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine, although its analgesic effects are thought to primarily involve its action on descending noradrenergic pathways. It is used to treat moderate to severe pain.
