Praziquantel is an anthelmintic drug used to treat schistosomiasis (bilharzia) and other parasitic worm infections. It belongs to the class of isoquinoline derivatives and works by increasing the permeability of the parasite's cell membranes to calcium, leading to paralysis and death of the worm.
