Prazosin is an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor blocker used primarily to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It works by relaxing the blood vessels, making it easier for blood to flow. It is also used to treat symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and has shown some efficacy in treating nightmares associated with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
