Brand: Accupril
Quinaprilat is the active metabolite of quinapril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by preventing the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor. This action leads to vasodilation, reduced blood pressure, and decreased afterload on the heart, making it beneficial for managing hypertension, heart failure, and coronary artery disease.
For treating hypertension, heart failure, and coronary artery disease.
Fetal toxicity has been reported with ACE inhibitors. Discontinue quinapril as soon as pregnancy is detected.
