Ramipril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor primarily used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), heart failure, and to improve survival after a heart attack. It belongs to a class of drugs that work by widening blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood. Ramipril also helps protect the kidneys in people with diabetes.
