Saxagliptin is an oral anti-diabetic drug in the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor class used to treat type 2 diabetes. It works by increasing incretin levels, which stimulate insulin release and decrease glucagon secretion, thereby improving glycemic control.
