Sitagliptin is an oral antihyperglycemic drug of the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor class used to treat type 2 diabetes. It works by increasing incretin levels, which in turn stimulate insulin release and decrease glucagon secretion, thereby lowering blood glucose levels.
