Generic: Suprofen
Suprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the propionic acid class. It works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which are responsible for producing prostaglandins, substances that mediate pain, inflammation, and fever. While effective, suprofen is no longer widely used due to reports of flank pain and renal impairment, especially in dehydrated individuals.
Suprofen was used for the relief of pain and inflammation associated with conditions like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other musculoskeletal disorders.
