Vosoritide is a recombinant analog of C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP). CNP is a naturally occurring peptide hormone that regulates endochondral bone growth. Vosoritide acts by binding to natriuretic peptide receptor-B (NPR-B) in growth plate chondrocytes, stimulating cGMP production, and promoting endochondral bone growth. It is specifically indicated for the treatment of achondroplasia in children 5 years of age and older whose epiphyses are not closed.
Vosoritide is used to treat achondroplasia in children 5 years and older with open growth plates.
